Author, Journalist, Historian, Story-Sleuth
Karen Dustman is a historian, novelist, and speaker whose work explores forgotten stories, regional history, family memory, and the mysteries that shape our lives.
She is the author of numerous nonfiction books on Western and Florida history, as well as fiction written under her pen name, Abby Rice. She has captured numerous oral histories, unearthed long-lost mining tales, and helped preserve traditional plant knowledge of the American West.
Whether writing about a devastating hurricane, a vanished mining town, or a small-town mystery, she is drawn to long-lost tales, forgotten people, hidden secrets, and stories of personal strength and resilience.
