Karen Dustman is a California-based journalist  and author, with fifteen nonfiction books and hundreds of magazine articles in print. Karen’s freelance articles have appeared in such national publications as Ladies’ Home Journal,  Family CircleNatural Health, and Westways magazines. Her how-to books also have attracted national attention, including appearances on such top television and radio shows as Discovery Channel; the Weekend Edition of the Today Show; Good Day New York; Woman’s Day TV; HGTV; and the Howie Mandel show. 
       In 2011, Karen founded Clairitage Press, a boutique publishing house specializing in books about California/Nevada history and capturing family oral histories.  Clairitage’s first volume, Silver Mountain City: Ghost of the Sierra, is the definitive work on this Comstock-era silver mine.
